Trained by Master Shen, alongside Chiaotzu, he initially follows a path of ruthless pragmatism, even attempting to cripple Yamcha during a preliminary match.

However, witnessing Goku's integrity and battling him directly, Tenshinhan begins to question his master's teachings and ultimately defects from the Crane School. He recognizes the importance of honor and fighting for good.

Tenshinhan is a highly skilled martial artist known for his signature techniques like the Tri-Beam and the Solar Flare. He possesses the unique ability to split into multiple versions of himself and also has a third eye, granting him enhanced vision and psychic abilities. While often overshadowed by Saiyan power advancements, he remains a dedicated Z Fighter, continually training to contribute to the defense of Earth.
